Vaccination center goes into operation
Employees from production areas first receive a vaccination offer
Limited amount of vaccine
Schaeffler has started the corona vaccination campaign for employees at the Herzogenaurach site. The vaccine delivery had arrived at the company doctors on Tuesday morning. Then everything happened very quickly: the vaccination center that had been specially set up for several weeks went into operation.
Although the vaccination priority for doctors was lifted at the beginning of the week, Schaeffler continues to proceed in a certain order. First, employees from production receive a vaccination offer in descending order of age. Dr. Alexander Putz, head of the Herzogenaurach plant, says: “Also because the vaccine is only available in limited quantities, we have decided to first vaccinate employees from production-related areas with compulsory attendance. Only when they have received the first vaccination do we offer a vaccination to employees who work mostly mobile in the home office. "
Theoretically, up to 800 vaccinations per week could be carried out in the vaccination center at the Herzogenaurach site, but it is not clear how many doses of vaccine will be available in the future. The company is only informed of the weekly delivery volume at very short notice. The Schaeffler locations in H?chstadt and Hirschaid will also start vaccinations this week.
Schaeffler aims to fully vaccinate all interested employees by September 30, 2021. To book appointments for voluntary vaccinations, the automotive and industrial supplier uses its established health app “Schaeffler Health Coach” and has developed its own software solution for vaccination management and documentation of vaccinations for transmission to the responsible authorities. After vaccination, the employees receive a corresponding certificate and an entry in the yellow vaccination certific
